CORRELATION BETWEEN SUBJECTIVE COMPLAINT CAUSED BY HOT PRESSURE WITH EMPLOYEES CHARACTERISTICS THAT WORKED AT DRIER DEPARTMENT ON PT NUSANTARA PLYWOOD GRESIK

ABSTRACT

A Convenient workplace is one of the supporting factor for increasing work activities while hot work place will bring about negative impacton occupational health and safety. One of the most important of work in heat is be created the compatible work climate for health, so that it’s not cause employee’s complain like heat cramps, heat syncope , heat stroke heat exhaustion, milliaria. The objectives of this research was to study the subjective complaints of workers employed in drier department of PT. Nusantara Plywood Gresik in Gresik to be related with characteristic of themselves. This was an observational, analytical research with crosssectional study approach. The population of this research was workers who had been working in the drier department. Random selective sample was thos who met given criteria sucha as healthy, age of 20-38 years old, had acclimatize to heat and fully clothed while the number of respondent was 59 peoples. Data were obtained by means of interview using questionnaire and observasional sheets. Data analyzed by using Chi Square test with α = 0,05. The result of this research shows that education (p = 0,009) have associated significant with subjective complaint.
